Georg Jensen
Georg Jensen is a Danish design house renowned for artistic boldness, superior craftsmanship, and visionary collaborations with leading artists and designers. Founded in 1904 by master silversmith Georg Jensen, the company creates Scandinavian designed products including a home collection, jewelry, sterling silverware, and watches. Globally, Georg Jensen has more than 100 stores in 13 countries.
It wasn’t long after opening his Copenhagen shop that Jensen set his sights on the world, opening stores in Berlin, Paris, and New York. As he exported the Georg Jensen aesthetic, the brand became an ambassador for Scandinavian design, with him as its master. Under his direction, the smithy reconsidered everyday objects – a pitcher, a fork, a bowl – elevating them into beautiful pieces of exceptional artistry and craftsmanship to enjoy, treasure, and collect.
Over the years, numerous design icons – from Henning Koppel, Arne Jacobsen, and Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe to Patricia Urquiola, Marc Newson, and Zaha Hadid – have partnered with Georg Jensen to help push its boundaries, defy convention, and re-imagine what design can be.
When Georg Jensen died, The Times wrote in its obituary that his work will be the antiques of the future. This prediction has since proven true.
Georg Jensen is a purveyor to the royal Danish court.
