Useful tips for cyclists

Copenhagen is a city full of keen cyclists, and it’s important to be aware of your fellow road users. This guide contains a couple of tips for cycling safely and comfortably around the city.

On top of the rules, our best advice is to avoid the bigger streets during the early morning rush hour (7.00-9.00) and late afternoon rush hour (15.00-17.00), when the local Copenhageners are rushing to and from work and school. The Copenhagen bike lanes can be hectic in these time slots. Especially if you're a less experienced cyclist, you'll have a much better time exploring Copenhagen in the lesser crowded periods of the day.

Also, please see the rules and guidelines from the Danish Police and Danish Road Safety Council.
